LA GRANDE MAISON
Set
within its own grounds of nearly 2 acres, the building is
an original ‘Maison de Maitre’, once at the heart
of a large farming complex, on the edge of the village of
Kergrist. The house is now sympathetically restored to provide
a lovely large, very ‘French’ house.
A
generous entrance hall gives way to the traditional French
kitchen. Unspoiled, yet accommodating all ‘mod cons’
– dishwasher, 5-burner gas cooker, microwave, massive
fridge and ample seating around a farmhouse table for eight.
CD Player/Radio to complete the living kitchen. Cosy in the
winter months, and a haven of cool in the summer within the
thick stone walls. This is an ideal place to relax after a
meal with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the company of family
and friends.

On the other side of the entrance
hall, a carefully restored spacious sitting room. Polished wood
floor and an exposed stone wall. Large open fireplace, tried
and tested to give heart to the room in cooler months. Comfy
adaptable sofas, loads of space for relaxing, TV/Video, CD/Radio,
plenty of books and games for a more traditional escape. This
room really comes into its own when some want to linger in the
kitchen, while others may prefer a quiet read or a sloppy film.

Still on the ground floor, for
those of you who like a long soak there is a large bath with
overhead shower unit in the family bathroom.
Separate WC.
Washing machine.
Also
on the ground floor, a gym area. Combat the temptations
of the local cuisine, with multi-gym, rowing machine, exercise
bike.
Adjoining
this, a games room with table tennis, table football and electronic
darts.
A feature handcrafted wooden
staircase leads to the bedrooms. Two spacious en-suite double
rooms, and a twin bedded room, plus a separate WC on this floor.
The en-suite shower-rooms are fully tiled, have heated towel
rails and a very high specification of fittings.
All
the bedrooms overlook the front of the property and its
large lawned garden, with the village church just in sight.
At the rear of the property
there is a wonderfully sheltered terrace, a real suntrap and
totally private. There is a large stone built barbeque and
ample seating alongside, a lovely spot for the serious business
of eating and drinking well into the late evening sunshine.
The back garden is approximately ½ an acre and is laid
mostly to grass, ideal for relaxing in the sun, or, for the
more energetic, playing football or badminton.
